Spending a night at the airport might not sound like the most appealing idea; it usually means delayed flights, or long layovers. But with travel restrictions in place, an overnight stay at Changi Airport might be the closest thing you’d get to satisfying that year-end wanderlust.

Jewel Changi Airport has recently opened up its scenic attractions to host overnight staycations. Available from November 20 to January 3, spend a night in a luxurious tent that comes outfitted with modern comforts: air cooler, blankets, sleeping pillows, toiletries, and even a queen or single-sized bed to snooze away comfortably.

There are two locations to choose from.

Glamp-cation in the Clouds offers a picturesque night at the Cloud9 Piazza, perched on the highest floor of Jewel. Enjoy a bird’s eye view of the mall’s many majestic attractions, and wake up to sights of the HSBC Rain Vortex splayed before your very eyes. Tents can fit three adults, or two adults and two children comfortably, with prices starting from $320 on weekdays, and $360 on weekends.

Glamp-cation at Shiseido Forest Valley provides a resort-like stay that’s surrounded by verdant greenery. Unwind in the company of some 900 trees and palms, and 60,000 shrubs. Here, the tents run slightly bigger, and can fit up to four adults, or two adults and three children. Prices start from $320 on weekdays, and $360 on weekends.

The overnight stay also comes with additional perks that include Canopy Park tickets, admission to the Changi Experience Studio or Manulife Sky Nets, free parking, and more. And how might the toilet situation look like? Shower facilities are available at Changi Lounge or YotelAIR, depending on the location of the glamp site.

A daytime-only experience is also available. Have a Glam-picnic in the Clouds, where you can gather up to five friends and relax in an air-conditioned tent located on the Cloud9 Piazza. Note that you’ll need to pack your own food, but amenities of table cloth, disposable cutleries, cooler box, and cushion seats will be provided. Picnic slots run in three-hour blocks, from 11.15am to 2.15pm, or 3pm to 6pm. Prices start from $160 on weekdays, and $180 on weekends.

These unique overnight experiences come as part of the Changi Airport’s year-end programmes. Other highlights include a two-day, one-night Family Camp ($160 for adults, $130 for children) with an action-packed itinerary of behind-the-scenes experiences and crafting workshops; and a sleepover in Changi Experience Studio ($60 for adults, $48 for children).
