So you’re down to your last cup of bubble tea you manage to snag right before the government’s new rule came into effect. Bubble tea is a precious commodity now (I know, we live in strange times), and you’re probably worried about how you’re going to get through the next month of the ‘circuit breaker’ without a sip of your favourite milky beverage.

Thankfully, you don't have to live through a bubble tea drought. Homegrown chain LiHO has announced today (April 24) the launch of its DIY bubble tea kit that’s available for purchase on Shopee. And before you rush to join the virtual queue, know that only limited quantities are available, released every day at noon. It's fastest fingers first – one of the two kits sold out within one minute after its release today.

Two kits are available for purchase, each complete with tea leaves, raw sugar, golden pearls, and even LiHO cups and straws. There’s the LiHO Milk Tea + Golden Pearl Set ($48), which comes with the usual creamer to add a milky touch, and is good for 15 cups, or the Black Tea Oat Latte + Golden Pearl Set ($85) that comes with Oatly’s oat milk for those that are lactose-intolerant, and can make 20 servings. Each kit also comes with a recipe card with instructions on how to create your own bubble tea – either hot or cold.

Is this kit worth it? Let’s do some quick math: each cup costs around $3.20 (or $4.25 for the Oatly version) – a rather affordable investment for bubble tea addicts who can't imagine a future without this sweet drink.
