Time Out says

While there’s no shortage of Peranakan restaurants in Singapore, it definitely doesn’t hurt to have a new one pop up every now and then, especially when it serves quality Peranakan dishes. Nana Dolly’s is a newly opened restaurant located along Perak Road, and was created to share the owner’s favourite Peranakan dishes from his childhood. The menu features familiar family recipes including nonya chicken curry ($16) and sambal brinjal ($7), as well as dishes with a modern twist like the laksa pasta ($10) and an otak croffle ($15) with a sunny side up egg and sambal mayonnaise.

Don’t miss out on Nana Dolly’s signature dish, mengkabo – succulent pork belly braised in a spicy, sweet, and tangy tamarind sauce. Choose between the sharing plate ($16) for a communal feast, or savour the mengkabo don ($15.90) solo, a rice bowl version with achar, sambal egg, and keropok ikan.

Finish your meal with one of Nana Dolly’s innovative desserts and drinks, such as the kaya gula melaka croffle ($10), or the chendol soft serve ($9.90). Coffee lovers should try the ondeh ondeh latte (from $7), where the classic latte is infused with gula melaka for a sweeter and more indulgent drink that isn’t overly sugary. For something more refreshing, opt for Orchard Garden ($7), a cucumber-based mocktail complete with mint and soda – perfect for sweltering days. Those seeking a boozy treat can enjoy the classic Singapore Sling ($14), or the carrot-based Sunset Breeze ($14).
