Little Saigon

Sometimes, after a long day, all we want is a comforting bowl of pho – it comes with a hearty broth that’s seemingly homemade while being packed with flavour. And it’s no different over at Little Saigon, where the pho bo ($17) reigns superior with its slow-braised beef bone broth. It also comes with a generous serve of beef chuck tender, brisket, and meatballs. Else, they do banh mi sandwiches well too (from $14), with fillings like grilled chicken and sauteed beef.

Its Carnivore Platter ($51) is good for four hungry folks to share, with dry-rubbed ribs, chicken satay, and tandoori chicken. While most will be enjoying an ice-cold pint here, they do also offer cocktails starting from $16 for a mimosa.

Undoubtedly, it’s the selection of steak that we’re most drawn to: black Angus ribeye ($28), drag aged tomahawk ($16/100g), Argentinian sirloin ($26) – they’ve got it all. Otherwise, the seafood options are worth trying too with mains like a charcoal-grilled salmon ($24) or sharing platters like the Mixed Seafood Combo ($32).

With its latest F&B campaign Fantastic Feasts and where to find them, you can enjoy up to 20 percent off Korean BBQs, 25 percent off Peranakan set menus, and even free drinks. First things first, you’ll need to sign up for the CapitaStar App (iOS | Android). Make sure to use the promo code <CQS5K> to get a bonus 5,000 STAR$®. More exciting things to do in town

  • Shopping
  • Shopping centres

Say the word Funan and the phrase "the IT mall" immediately comes to mind. But after three years of development and a $560 million revamp, the latest shopping centre by Capitaland is back to show us that it can be so much more.

With a retail section that spans six storeys housing 192 tenants, Funan has something for everyone, whether you're looking for tech, food, fashion, fitness or culture. The futuristic mall houses flagship stores of international brands such as Brompton Junction and Taobao, as well as local labels like Carrie K. and Another Sole. It also has an ABC Cooking Studio, Golden Village, a futsal court, and tech-enabled handsfree shopping plus a food court where you can pay for food with your cryptocurrencies.

A ultimate guide to Clarke Quay
  • Things to do

So many bars and clubs, so little time – Clarke Quay is a veritable hub of leisure from the down and dirty to the sleek and sophisticated. Everywhere you look there's something vying for your attention. Think it's time we break it down, here are some of our favourite spots in the area and what they offer.

  • Things to do

Bugis has gone through an overhaul over the years – transforming from a port for pirates and quarters for prostitution to the classy (and artsy) precinct it is today which includes new developments like Andaz, the National Design Centre and the modern National Library branch. Not to mention a smorgasbord of food options from all over the world – whether it's Michelin-star hawker fare, Malay cuisine or trendy cafés. While the area is evolving into a mini CBD, it hasn’t gone all business-like just yet. The colourful neighbourhood is a place of contrasts, with the historical monuments of Kampong Glam contrasting against state-of-the-art buildings like Parkview Square and Duo Tower.
