Find me a date: Bryan and Wan Lin

These city kids ditched Tinder and let us play matchmaker. Here’s a blow-by-blow of their blind date

The date: our daters had a meal at Senso Ristorante and Bar

First impression

Wan Lin: ‘He seemed like a very young, polite guy. He was a bit awkward at first, though.’

Bryan: ‘She seemed very introverted at first – but also pretty conscientious.’

Chemistry

Wan Lin: ‘We have many common interests, so the conversation flowed quite well. We talked a lot about school, sports and food.’

Bryan: ‘We talked about our common interests like travelling and food. It was more about getting to know someone new.’

Awkward moment

Wan Lin: ‘In the beginning it was a little awkward, but after we found out that we both liked sports and food it was good.’

Bryan: ‘The first few minutes were quite awkward because she seemed shy. But we were able to break through that quickly.’

Afterwards

Wan Lin: ‘It was quite late and he was having the flu so we left for home after dinner.’

Bryan: ‘We exchanged Instagram handles, but I didn’t ask for her number. I don’t really ask girls that; they ask me.’

Verdict

Wan Lin: ♥♥♥♥ ‘It was nice to have a conversation that didn’t revolve around work. He’s a really sweet guy!’

Bryan: ♥♥♥♥♥ ‘It’s a misconception that you need “sparks” on a date. Maybe I’ll ask her out for a drink and we’ll see how things go from there.’

Senso Ristorante & Bar

The atmosphere

‘It was fantastic, and the service was excellent. It’s a great place to celebrate a special occasion. I’d love to return.’ – Wan Lin

The food

‘I had beef tenderloin as my main, and it was cooked to perfection. But I was more engrossed in the conversation than the food.’ – Bryan

The drinks

‘I had a lychee martini. It was just nice – not too diluted or sweet.’ – Bryan
