Tanjong Pagar is where you’ll find historic shophouses, sleek architecture and a vibrant café culture. Adding a splash of creativity to the district is Arts in the Alley: Walks of Life, a two-day festival happening from August 16 to 17.
Three iconic venues, 21 Tanjong Pagar Road, Ann Siang House and KēSa House, will play host to a slew of interactive activities inspired by its unique past, and those who complete the full trail can walk away with freebies.
The festival programme also features hands-on workshops and engaging sessions, including a scriptwriting masterclass by Singapore Repertory Theatre, Chinese shadow puppetry performances and live poetry readings. For something offbeat, head to the alcohol-free coffee rave, where you can dance the day away fuelled by caffeine. There will also be exclusively commissioned works, including a wall mural installation tucked away in the back alley of 21 Tanjong Pagar Road.
Tickets are priced at $10 for adults and $5 for children, and every visitor gets a goodie bag.
