The arts are not just reserved for the physical stage – big or small. In this digital era, there is a myriad of innovative ways to get your music, dance, and theatre fix without leaving your comfort zone. With performances, exhibitions and workshops brought to the virtual stage with a digital twist, you can delight in them wherever you are.

Given the significant challenges faced by the arts community during the pandemic, the National Arts Council teamed up with artists, heritage and cultural institutions in Singapore to bring a wide variety of arts and cultural experiences online with #SGCultureAnywhere. That means you can enjoy them from the comfort of your couch or on the go at any time.

Launched in April 2020, #SGCultureAnywhere aims to support the local arts community and ensure that appetites for music, dance, theatre, heritage, and culture remain satiated while museums, theatres and concert halls take a brief intermission during the circuit breaker. A mix of curated content and aggregated listings of online content from across the culture sector can be found on The A List.

The one-stop integrated platform spotlights the best of the city’s digital arts and culture offerings including existing and newly commissioned digital works that can be enjoyed by arts lovers of all ages. There are a plethora of livestream performances and recordings, virtual tours of exhibitions, art workshops, and other fun activities for the whole family. Peep at some art from National Gallery Singapore, get cultured with the National Museum of Singapore, catch a recording of a music performance at the Esplanade, cosy up for a play by The Necessary Stage, or delight in the sweet sounds of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra.

Beyond digital content, The A List also keeps all informed about the latest happenings in town including virtual as well as on-site free and ticketed events such as various cultural festivals, live music performances at Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay, staged plays at Drama Theatre Centre, and captivating exhibitions at Singapore’s many art galleries.

If you've got kids, introduce them to the kaleidoscopic world of the arts with the inaugural edition of the Esplanade's new children's festival March On, taking place on-site and online from March 10 to 14. The festival features music, dance and theatre shows and workshops that will delight kids aged 12 and below.

Even after the reopening of museums, theatres, and concert halls, as well as Singapore’s transition to Phase 3, The A List remains a great alternative for the young and the young-at-heart to explore Singapore’s arts and culture without leaving the house.
