The year may be coming to a close, but the festivities are just getting heated up at Singapore’s largest New Year’s Eve event. Themed ‘Bay of Hopes and Dreams’ and presented by the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA), Marina Bay Singapore Countdown 2018 features an exciting line-up of interactive activities, carnival rides and games, free outdoor events and Instagram-worthy light projections – all of which rounds off with a bang, quite literally, with a stunning display of fireworks. For more information, visit marinabaycountdown.sg.

Make merry at a family-friendly carnival

Gather your family and friends and head down to the Prudential Marina Bay Carnival where over 40 rides and games await. Held across two activity hubs at The Promontory and Bayfront Event Space, the carnival has roller coasters and water rides for the thrill-seekers, and game booths for people of all ages. Come midnight on December 31, you’ll want to be sitting up front to experience the panoramic views of the magnificent fireworks at The Float @ Marina Bay – trust us on that. There’ll also be an outdoor marketplace? selling a mixture of F&B and lifestyle products that’ll keep you busy all night. Else, pack a little picnic basket as you wait for the clock to strike twelve.

Take to the streets with free public events

The countdown activities spill out of Marina Bay into the adjacent Civic District – this lively district will be made entirely car-free so you can walk on the roads as you please #thuglife. Get in your last (or could be your first and only, but we don’t judge) workout of the year with Health Promotion Board’s Fitness Countdown Workout Extravaganza; there are also sunset yoga and other group exercises to choose from. Food and drinks are aplenty, along with movie screenings and performances by local artistes at the Empress Lawn.
