Part of being a homeowner is having to deal with household chores on your own. After all, you're an adult now. But even if you're still staying with your parents, there's no excuse not to be useful around the house. If you're useless but keen on turning over a new leaf – or happen to be a frustrated parent or significant other who wants some darn help around the house – then here's your salvation: Helpling.

Or more specifically, Helpling's home cleaning bootcamp. The online home services provider is better known as your 'concierge' for cleaning services. Power up its website or app to book one of its many housekeeping services: general cleaning, post-renovation cleaning, curtain cleaning, and even car washing. But now, Helpling is taking things a step further with a bootcamp for all the sons, daughters, husbands or wives who can't tell their laundry detergent from dishwashing soap.

Not sure what to expect from Helpling's bootcamp? Watch the video below to see our videographer Daniel go from 'helpless' to 'house husband'. We gather his thoughts in a short and sweet interview below.

How would you rate yourself in terms of usefulness around the house?

I would rate 3/10 in terms of usefulness.

Do you like cleaning/doing chores?

No.

How did you find the class?

I think it's an eye-opening experience as I was taught things that I have been doing wrong all my life.

What were some things you learned from it?

I learned about the labels on my clothes and how to properly wash, fold and iron them.

How were the other participants?

I think they were all equally lost and slow at doing the tasks as it was very foreign.

Do you feel that men generally tend to help less around the house? Why is this so?

I don't think men help less, but some are just bad at the chores and might make the situation worse. So we tend to leave it to the professionals.

I know some men who love doing chores too.

Should men be more useful around the house?

Yes, I think men should at least pull their own weight in terms of house chores.
