It’s been a long two years or so since we’ve last stepped foot in Hong Kong. And since then, many new attractions and activities have opened their doors – there’s a new adventure at every turn. From wandering through Disneyland to enjoying sweeping city views from the highest peak, these are the top four new attractions to check out the next time you visit Hong Kong.

To get a panoramic glimpse of Hong Kong, head over to Victoria Peak for the full Peak Experience. While the Peak tram has been a classic for over a century, it’s been recently refurbished after a year’s closure with new ropes and track rails. Good news: the sleek tram carriages now hold more people – perfect for those too impatient to wait in lines. It’s now back to running up the steep hill, bringing you to the highest point of Hong Kong Island in less than 10 minutes.

Even if you’re there for a short getaway, Ocean Park Water World is worth visiting – it’s a crowd-pleaser for its bevy of family-friendly activities. While Ocean Park itself is the second largest theme park in Hong Kong and has the world’s largest aquarium dome, there’s every reason to slot newly-opened Water World into your itinerary. As a bonus for thrillseekers, it also boasts 27 water activities. One of them, Rainbow Rush, gets you sliding down head first on a racer mat through a pitch-black tube, before zooming out in vibrant rainbow-hued slides.

If you’re travelling with children, make sure to also spare some time for the Legoland Discovery Centre, an indoor playground with 10 Lego themed play areas. It’s all fun and games here, but with Lego touted as one of the best learning tools for kids, a day here will be equal parts educational and entertaining.

Don’t rule out the magic of Disney either with Hong Kong Disneyland’s new castle, a true architectural feat with its rose gold domes and columns with intricate etchings. It pays tribute to all Disney princesses, from originals like Snow White to new-age rulers like Moana. Even Anna and Elsa from Frozen share a mighty tower. And as we all know, Disney puts on quite the show. Light projections of Disney icons, colourful fireworks lighting up the night sky, and a perfectly in-sync orchestra – their new 20-minute night show “Momentous” is bound to be a hit.
