Time Out says

Go west and celebrate a landmark for this local arts institution

This year marks the 25th anniversary of Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre and to celebrate, they’re launching four new shows alongside a special anniversary exhibition, One Past Liverpool.

As part of the exhibition, a group of local emerging artists under the age of 25 were commissioned to create a new work inspired by the centre’s past and its milestone exhibitions. These new works will be displayed alongside the older pieces that inspired them, in a visual passing of the baton to a new artistic generation.

Alongside One Past Liverpool will run a suite of other exhibitions. Body Remembers is a photographic series by Indigenous artist Tracy Moffatt that was first shown two years ago at the 57th Venice Biennale. Pure Joy is Western Sydney artist Svetlana Panov’s collection of intricate ceramics inspired by local flora, while the Song Tree Exhibition explores the similarities and differences in childhood songs across the globe. Finally, Fractadella is a series of psychedelic digital animations by artist Len Hurley that was inspired by CPAC’s long industrial history.
