Goros quietly closed its doors over the past two months to embark on some renovations and since then we've had a karaoke and yakitori shaped hole in our heart. Now, the Surry Hills bar will be swinging its doors back open and debuting its makeover (and doubled capacity).
They've got a new menu, fresh drinks, a refurbed sound system and a pristine private den ready for you to dive into. But it's not all new – they are keeping their late night trading hours and of course much loved free karaoke booths to ensure your night out at Goros is always a good time.
To celebrate they will be showing off all the new stuff with a grand re-opening rager. Le Fruit DJs will hop on the decks, spinning party tunes and classics and of course there will be karaoke. Head down early to receive a free drink on arrival and a taste of the new menu from 6pm to 8pm.
Highlights from the menu include charcoal grilled skewers of soy glazed pumpkin; chicken thigh with tare sauce and pickled cucumbers; and beef short rib, yuzu pepper sauce, pickled carrots; alongside prawn and leek or shitake and quinoa gyoza, and crisp karaage chicken. You'll also find cocktails including yuzu soda high balls, frozen Fukuju umeshu sake and wine in a can.
