Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company return to Australia after a 23 year absence, with an apocalyptic work set to a soundtrack including Björk and Tim Hecker

Inspired by (and named after) a song by Canadian alt-rockers A Silver Mt. Zion, this new work by Israel’s Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company is described by artistic director and choreographer Rami Be’er as “bringing together dreams and a sense of impending apocalypse”.

Besides A Silver Mt Zion, the soundtrack for the work features tracks by Björk, Olafur Arnalds, Tim Hecker and Apparat, among others.

This will be KCDC’s Sydney debut, although they performed 'Spiral Poems' at Melbourne Festival in 1993, when the company was still under the helm of founder Yehudit Arnon. Be’er has been artistic director since 1996, and created more than 50 works for the company.
