Time Out says

Relive one of your favourite albums from the teen years

If you’re in your early 30s and were something of an indie kid, there’s a decent chance that Bloc Party’s seminal debut, Silent Alarm, was one of the defining albums of your youth. If you find yourself nodding along at that sentence, the good news is that the alt-rock quartet are heading to Oz specifically to tour that very record. In 2005, Silent Alarm leapt from speakers worldwide thanks to its irresistible combination of post-punk energy, choppy guitar riffs and frenetic tubthumping. In the years that have followed, Bloc Party have released a further four albums, but none have captured the public imagination quite like that initial bolt from the blue. Happily, Silent Alarm has stood the test of time, meaning these gigs at the Hordern promise to be fresh and vital rather than an exercise in self-congratulatory nostalgia.
