Two of southwest Sydney's most celebrated artists come together for one night only at Riverside Theatres

On Friday April 8, acclaimed Sikh-Australian rapper L-Fresh the Lion will be joined by rising star Barkaa at Riverside Theatres as part of Great Southern Nights, a celebration of live music taking place across New South Wales.

Ground-breaking performer and activist Sukhdeep Singh, aka L-Fresh the Lion, has toured the world, addressed the United Nations in New York and has performed alongside icons such as Nas, Talib Kweli, Dead Prez and even Sir Elton John. Despite international success, the humble hometown hero has never forgotten his roots, with third studio album, South West, paying homage to Southwest Sydney.

An online sensation thanks to her bold lyrics, infectious flow and powerful personal story, Malyangapa Barkindji woman Barkaa has been touted as the new matriarch of Australian rap. Her music is a celebration of trailblazing Blak women, and an acknowledgement of her own power to be a creative changemaker in the community.
