The legendary pop singer finally – finally! – returns to Oz with her latest arena show
The 23-year drought is over. After a notorious string of cancellations and broken promises, Madonna is making her long-awaited return to Australia as part of her globe-spanning Rebel Heart tour. Her concerts are legendary spectacles that incorporate cutting-edge videos, dizzying choreography and a panoply of narratives and social messages – and they've turned the pop diva into one of the most successful touring artists of all time.
But she hasn't played Australia since wayyyy back in 1993, when she lit up the Sydney Cricket Ground as part of her Girlie Show tour. Fans here have awaited her return for more than two decades – and now they'll be getting what they wished for when she plays Allphones Arena in March 2016. For now, she's announced two dates at the venue; we're presuming she will leave the capes at home.
