Time Out says

If you’re one of those good kids at the party organising the recycling in between bouts on the dancefloor, you best look up sustainable party people, Hiccup. This creative collective endeavours to run gigs, performances, art shows and all-night ragers that don’t harm the planet.

The group, led by multi-skilled creative Sam Eacott and comedian Issy Phillips, will be hosting their first live art party at Marrickville Bowlo on August 3. It’ll incorporate visual and performance art from multidisciplinary acts like Radha La Bia (who is Shahmen Suku off the stage) and experimentive designer Anna Mould. They’ll be joined by local musos like Lorna Clarkson, Eddy Diamond and Rydeen who will curate a soundtrack with environmentalism at the core.

Hiccup will be walking the talk too, using borrowed, recycled and repurposed materials for all artworks, courtesy of upcycling specialists Reverse Garbage. Some profits from the event will go back to this sustainable Marrickville venue, and the remainder will be donated to environmental advocacy network, Friends of the Earth Australia. Marrickville Bowling Club will also be going green for the weekend, introducing carbon offsets and banning all single use plastics.

The party is running as part of the Inner West Council's immersive arts program.
