Time Out says

The entertainment hub celebrates Lunar New Year with 3 weeks of dining specials and festive shows

The Star is going all out for Lunar New Year, starting with a walk-in Lunar Lantern at the complex’s entrance. The 3.5-metre tall installation is covered in red tiles depicting the hero of the hour, the resourceful and canny rat, with a shimmering golden interior just begging for photos. The lantern will be open to visitors from January 23 through February 8.

The festivities continue inside where there will be nightly lion dances and stilt walkers from January 24 until February 8. On select evenings over that time, you can also catch a special New Year’s edition of Aqualume, the Star’s free digital art and aerialist show. Head to the Grand Foyer to watch the performers twirl against a backdrop of giant red lanterns, cascading water and moving ink paintings depicting the blossoms of spring.

Over the New Year period, the Star’s various restaurants will be offering celebratory dishes and menus. Specials include whole steamed grouper in the Food Quarter ($38), abalone with kombu butter at Black Bar & Grill ($68), Prosperity Toss seafood salad at Chuuka ($68), and a seafood feast at the Harvest Buffet featuring crab, oysters, scallops and more ($79 per person). High rollers can even splurge on the $628 sashimi platter at Sokyo filled with lobster, caviar, toro, uni and scampi, to usher in a year of prosperity and opulence.
