Triathlons aren’t for everyone and that’s okay. However, this three-pronged physical experience is doing things a little differently. Rather than a massive run, bike and swim, the Wanderlust 108 Festival is inviting Sydneysiders to complete a marathon that starts with a cool 5k – run, walk or skip – followed by a leg of DJ-powered yoga, and ending with a restorative meditation session as the third element of the feel-good triathlon.
It’s all going down in Centennial Park, and the name of the game is wellbeing. Along with the tweaked triathlon, there’ll be a series of mood-boosting talks tackling anxiety and stress, plus extra feel-good activities. Not keen on a strict yogi’s regiment? Head to the amplified yoga sesh in the morning that’s more about dancing and rhythm than downward dog. Need a new, weird hobby? Join classes in hula hooping, doing handstands, or acrobatically impressive aerial yoga.
When you’ve stretched, boogied and hustled yourself into a sweaty mess, head to the pop-up café for healthy refreshments, then find more health-focused products at the festival market. The 25 vendors will meet the organic, ethical and sustainable trifecta, and offer everything from yoga mats to homewares, crystals and essential oils.
