Time Out says

Damon Gameau shocked us out of our hidden sugar habit in 2014 with his documentary drama, That Sugar Film, and now he’s taking on our global society’s biggest economic, environmental, technological, agricultural and civil problems in 2040. Once again, the Australian filmmaker is tackling the important questions considering his four-year-old daughter, and what the future holds as she grows up.

In this event hosted by the School of Life, audiences will get one of the first looks at this new production, which will incorporate traditional documentary film techniques with dramatised visual effects that create a vision of how the future might look if we fully embraced solutions to global problems that are currently available. The film follows Gameau though this visually engrossing, calculative journey, as he seeks insights from some of the world’s leading minds.

After the screening, Gameau will be joined in conversation by award-winning musician, actor and business entrepreneur Clare Bowditch to discuss the film and its positive outlook on solutions to fixing the future. The evening will conclude with a short Q&A and book signing of Gameau’s written work based on 2040.
