Thousands of supporters are expected to gather on the steps of Sydney Town Hall to demand change

Keep Sydney Open, Reclaim the Streets, Sniff Off, Unharm and Students for Sensible Drug Policy are holding a rally on Saturday January 19 to demand support from the government for pill testing at raves and music festivals.

The protest will start at Sydney Town Hall where at least 7,000 people are expected to listen to experts and campaigners for harm minimisation before walking in the direction of Hyde Park.

Reclaim the Streets spokesperson Kieran Adair says, “We’re throwing this protest because we’re sick of reading the same headlines about young people dying around us. Festival overdoses are easily so preventable, the government needs to stop burying its head in the sand and listen to the experts.”
