Time Out says

Taste award-winning drops from the country’s most prestigious vinters at this huge wine expo

There’s a competitive edge to this wine showcase, as every drop on offer will be a contender in the KPMG Sydney Royal Wine Show, a competition which dates back to 1826 and will crown the 2019 winner just before the festival doors open at 2pm. And with 2,200 entrants, there’ll be no shortage of vintages to taste.

In addition to the fancy pours from around Australia, you’ll also get to trial the winners of the Sydney Royal Beer and Cider Show, just to mix it up. And to keep you sensible and on your feet, they’ll ensure there’s a bevvy of food stalls to match the drinks. They will also be award winners. Blue ribbons all round!

There'll be live musicians playing the soundtrack for the afternoon, and if you're interested to go on a wine, beer and cider deep dive, judges from the show will be hosting 20-minute tasting masterclasses throughout the festival.

Rather than using fiddly tasting tokens, your ticket covers every red, white, bubbly and beer that you’ll try, as well as the swanky snacks at the grazing stations. The beverages will only come in small portions, mind you, for the sake of sharing the limited bottles and tasting more varieties.
