Taking over Gough Whitlam Park (a short five-minute walk from Tempe Station) on Sunday, August 13, GAP’s Winter Adoption Day promises a big day out for two- and four-legged friends alike. Soccer legend and GAP ambassador Tim Cahill will make a special appearance to share his adoption experiences, and who knows – he may even inspire you to walk away with a new best mate on the day.
The not-for-profit initiative – which has re-homed countless retired greyhound athletes – is hoping to find forever homes for more than 60 loving greyhounds this winter. You can look forward to boundless pats and snuggles, and the chance to embark on a heartwarming adoption journey at their winter adoption event.
GAP’s passionate volunteers will be there to talk you through the adoption process and to help you get a feel for which greyhound might best fit your family.
Bring the whole gang along to enjoy free kids’ entertainment like face painting, a jumping castle, a soccer dart activation, a DJ and a chill-out zone. There will be tasty human treats too, including a barbecue and ice cream van.
GAP's Winter Adoption Day is free to attend from 10am to 3pm on Sunday, August 13.
