[Sponsored] Get back on your bike and enjoy a day of family-friendly cycling activities

Think two wheels are better than four? Do you spend July glued to the late-night cycling marathons on SBS? Did you teach your kids to cycle before they could walk? Then we’ve got an event for you. On Saturday, July 13 SBS and Škoda are teaming up to host a free family cycling day at Fearnley Grounds in Centennial Park.

The family cycling day is to celebrate the launch of First Gear – a resource for primary school-aged kids that lets them learn about the Tour de France and how to maintain a healthy, active lifestyle (which of course cycling can be a part of).

Gear yourself up for a day of free, two-wheeled fun. Kids will be able to take part in activities like mini-courses, face painting and bike decorating workshops (so they can have the freshest wheels in the street). Adult cyclists will be able to give their bikes some TLC with bike mechanics on hand to give free tune-ups, while the Škoda team will be showing you how to best transport your bicycle on a car. The event will also have competitions, giveaways, photo opportunities and the chance to blend your own smoothies using pedal power alone.

The event will also feature some special guests. Visitors will have the chance to meet charismatic SBS personality, sports analyst and former footballer Craig Foster alongside track and road champion Kate Bates.

The SBS and Škoda free family cycling day is on at Fearnley Grounds, Centennial Park on Saturday, July 13.
