Sydney’s wildest independent arts festival returns to Riverside Theatres for a second year with an expansive program of performances

The bold and gloriously chaotic Sydney Fringe returns to Parramatta this September and promises to be a wild ride of creativity and fun. From quirky theatre and smash hit singalongs to cabaret clubs and comedy shows, the second edition of Sydney Fringe at Riverside Theatres really packs a punch.

The most exciting addition in 2023 is a pop-up exclusive of Sydney’s smash hit Lola’s Piano Bar, which will transform Rafferty’s into an intimate cabaret club. Live out your piano singalong dreams and get your healthy dose of laughs with performances by hilarious comedians including Carolyn Swindell, Anthony Locascio and Dane Simpson

Among the expanded line-up of shows at Riverside Theatres is the experimental adults-only puppetry show, Dragon Hearts; the brand new Australian musical comedy by miscast trio, the Tritones; and the Y2K PowerPoint night of your dreams about how to have the perfect pash, Unkissed.

Big Thick Energy will also join the festivities on Saturday, September 16 with a jam-packed day of markets and free body positivity dance workshops such as Bootylesque with Demon Derriere and Vogue with Eliam Royalness. The festival will come to a wild finale with a night of empowering, badass performances from burlesque artists, drag queens and DJs, celebrating inclusivity for IBPOC, POC and LGBTQIA+ bodies. Tickets start at $41 and you can upgrade to a ‘big booty seat’ at no extra cost.
