No plans for April 23? Now you do. Wander On Q is an exciting new event coming to the heart of Campbelltown, and it’s shaping up to be an evening of fun for the whole family.
The festivities kick off at 5pm, and will be centred around three key locations on or around Queen Street: Wander the Green, Wander Forum Q and Colour Wander. Each space will be within walking distance of one another (with the streets closed off to traffic), and feature food, drinks, activities and performances.
Wander the Green will see the Short Street car park transformed into a neon garden, complete with pop-up bar, food trucks and outdoor seating. Glow-in-the-dark face painting and robot entertainers will keep the kids busy, while the stage will host a number of live music acts.
Over at Colour Wander (located at the section of Queen Street between Dumaresq and Allman Streets) there will be jugglers, balloon artists and free face painting. A number of the local restaurants will also be offering special meal deals, with dessert trucks slinging sweet treats. And keep an eye out for the colourful furniture and photo booth, both of which should provide plenty of ‘grammable moments.
Wander Forum Q on the corner of Lithgow Street and Queen Street is the midway point between the two larger event spaces, and it will play host to a giant screen featuring clips of Western Sydney dance culture. DJs will also be spinning tunes well into the evening, and a local dance crew will be jamming on the outdoor d-floor.
And as you meander between these three social spaces, be sure to stop and enjoy some of the roving performers and buskers – you never know what you might stumble upon.
This free event is proudly funded by the NSW Government’s Festival of Place Open Streets Program. For more information, head to the website.
