A huge open air market is setting up stalls and Christmas lights right by the water

The Eastern Suburbs’ Cambridge Markets are bringing a sleigh-full of their handmade, local goodies around Sydney for a series of sparkling Christmas markets. They’ll set up the twilight edition right by the ferry stop at Watsons Bay from 3pm, and will add twinkling lights, live music, food stalls and three bars in addition to their regular line-up of vendors.

Started in Vaucluse in 2015, the Cambridge Markets offer a more boutique experience than a standard weekend market, with consistently developing, carefully curated stalls. You’ll find boutique fashion and linen from the Sac and Zatura, kids’ toys and clothes from Feisty Little Mouse, beach towels by Blem, fair-trade and vegan beauty products from Emporium of Natural and Guna Natural, as well as all kinds of textiles, homewares and ceramics created by Samantha Robinson and Emelio Frank Designs.

You’ll also be able to pick up festive wrapping paper, candles, wreaths cards and even fresh pine Christmas trees. And since the festive season generally coincides with feasting, you can feed your holiday belly at food stalls serving everything from barbecue cuts to gozleme and Sonoma’s best toasties. You will need to load up, especially since there’s a dedicated gin bar, craft beer corner and wine bar curated by Archie Rose, the Grifter Brewing Co and Tulloch wines respectively.

It’s also rumoured that Santa will make an appearance, as well as local bands Fig Tree Jam and Strolling Bones who’ll colour the evening with song.
