This year’s Japanese Film Festival has a packed program of 30 features and one documentary, curated by the Japan Foundation, Sydney. Highlight film Yakiniku Dragon is a tender and beautiful film about the hardships faced by a Korean family in 1970s Japan – and we’re giving away 15 double passes to see the movie at Event Cinemas, George Street, on Friday November 23 at 8.30pm.
Yakiniku Dragon features a star-studded line-up including Jeon-eun Lee (Okja), Yoko Maki (The Grudge) and Yo Oizumi (Bread of Happiness). There’s romance, resilience, struggle and a story of finding acceptance in post-war Japan.
