Time Out says

Set on sprawling grounds in the heart of the Valley's wine belt, Peppers is a nigh-on perfect base from which to explore all the Hunter has to offer. There's plenty to entertain you without even leaving the grounds.

With the first kiss of the new day, there's the option of an AM stroll around the manicured lawns overlooking the beautiful lake and gardens. There you'll stumble across quaint little table settings in picturesque corners, or rustic old farm machinery under gum trees - a real country vibe... slightly skewed when a helicopter whirs in over the rolling hills, whisking guests off for their days adventure.

Once you've worked up an appetite with all the fresh air, make your way to the restaurant for breakfast, grab a paper and relax on the enclosed verandah bathing in the morning sunshine. There's an extensive selection of seasonal fruits, pastries, and a full hot buffet to cater for all tastes, plus tea, coffee and fresh juice.

If you fancy spoiling yourself with some pampering just follow the path over to the Endota Spa, which is tucked away in a quiet corner of the complex. Take your pick from the wide selection of treatments - Hawaiian hot stone massage, facials and full body scrubs.

For the more actively inclined, a hit of tennis is the perfect way to work off any over indulgences from the weekend. Live out your Wimbledon dreams on the grass court, followed by a glass of Pimms on the ivy-covered terrace. Rackets and balls are provided free of charge at reception, as are Boules if you'd prefer a game on the lawn. Alternatively, take a dip in the heated indoor pool and spa.

After the day's activities you can't beat cosying up in front of the roaring fire in the comfortable guest lounge. The sweet smell of wood fire, accompanied by a local drop from the great selection behind the bar is enough to put a satisfied smile on anyone's face.

Rooms from $328 per night, including breakfast. Minimum two-night stay at weekends.
