The Wired Hotel is no more, but that’s good news for its co-tenant, the theatre company Asakusa Kokono Club. The club has since taken over the entire building and relaunched with a new hotel and dining space integrated into its existing theatre. Located along Asakusa’s Hisago-dori street, the 10-storey building is now an entertainment hub with accommodation, so audience members never have to worry about how they’re getting home.

The first floor is the dining area, which provides a pleasant place for the public to mingle with the performers. Food-wise, you can expect a mix of local and international favourites made with seasonal ingredients, such as onigiri made from premium rice, house-made french toast, as well as oden with a dashi broth that pairs well with sake.

Head up to the second floor and you’ll find the theatre space Asakusa Kyugeki. Opened in 2017, the hall temporarily turned into an online theatre during the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic, providing regular online performances for people to enjoy from home.

Floors three to ten are devoted to the hotel. All 30 rooms boast modern designs with individual layouts. The hotel offers plans tailored to different needs, targeting (domestic or international) tourists who want to explore Asakusa, locals who’re looking for a quick getaway, as well as short-term visitors in need of a comfy workspace.

If you’re looking for a Tokyo staycation, the hotel has a 50 percent discount campaign on all rooms until the end of September.
