From today (Mar 1) onwards, the River Wing of the historic Mandarin Oriental Bangkok hotel will be closed for the grandest-ever renovations since the erection of the building five decades ago. Expected to complete in seven months, the renovations will upgrade all the River Wing's more than 300 rooms and suites, together with the lobby, swimming pools, Lord Jim’s, The Verandah and Riverside Terrace restaurants to meet the modern luxury standards. The historic Authors’ Wing, home to Authors' Lounge, and the Garden Wing, where the star-studded Le Normandie is crowned atop, will remain open.
