MY Story: Transforming the Nation

In celebration of our 57th Merdeka Day and 51st Malaysia Day, Galeri PETRONAS unveils two new exhibitions. ‘MY Story: Transforming the Nation’, presents rare photographs of World War II prisoners, artefacts and documents taking you through a timeline from the past to the present day. The exhibition also showcases water-colour artworks by AB Ibrahim, Yong Mun Sen and Abdullah Ariff from the 1950s. Happening simultaneously is the ‘Merdeka Series: Works in Progress’, featuring the socio-political-themed works of Haslin Ismail and Samsudin Wahab which aim to instil national identity, understanding and unity without prejudice amongst Malaysians.
