Time Out says
Claret is easily one of our favourite new bars this year so far. The bar is strikingly beautiful, resembling a high-end New York loft. But most importantly, it’s classy without pretention.
The detailing of the place is impeccable: the soft lighting, the muted colours, the houndstooth chairs, the expensive couches and the comfortable seating all create a very metropolitan mood. It looks almost like a set from the late ‘Sex and the City’, back when it was still good.
Another thing we love about Claret is their music policy; there is a baby grand piano where singers knock out smooth jazz and blues and new age tunes. (None of that EDM crap here.)
But our favourite part of the bar is the outdoor patio that overlooks the gorgeous city skyline. Of course, as a wine bar, their selection is excellent. And apart from wines, the bar also stocks dozens of other drinks.
Naturally, you don’t come to a place like this and expect normal bar prices. Get yourself here now, as they’re currently running a weekday sunset drinks promotion between 4pm and 8pm, with different drinks deals every day (see p106 for listings). Even without the promo, we think this could be the best place to have a post-work drink on a Friday evening. Or any evening. Ian Loh
