Rest Room is another concept club. Despite its name, this new space at The Scott Garden flaunts an over the top modern Victorian décor with crystal chandeliers, golden frames hanging on the ceiling, velvet upholstery, silver high-chairs and glittery curtains. Elegant or chintzy? You decide.
We took a glimpse at the ladies restroom (yes, the actual toilet in the club), which is spacious enough to lose yourself in. Marble floor pairs up with warm lighting, two huge red velvet sofas and a parrot named Alex. Yes, there’s a parrot in the restroom. It is too easy to let time slip by in here, and before you know it, you are spending too much time powdering your nose or gossiping with your girlfriends.
Right beside the ladies restroom is a female-only chill out lounge. So if you are sick of the unwanted attention and corny pick-up lines, this is the place to be. The owners also mentioned that ladies will be able to get their manicure and pedicure done in the future.
Drinking, as you’d expect, is largely whisky-and-coke affair. At the moment there isn’t a resident DJ, and the music policy runs across commercial house and a mix of Top 40s. Cover charges apply on Friday and Saturday nights. Ian Loh
