Add this to your rooftop bar list – located on the 35th floor of Pinnacle PJ, Marimbar is PJ’s highest rooftop bar and is set to become a firm favourite among KLites thanks to spectacular views, signature Malaysian-inspired cocktails and delicious food. It’s by the same people behind popular hotspot Marini’s on 57, Marble 8, M Marini Caffé and MariGin, so you can expect the same meticulous attention to detail in every element here.

The jungle-themed Marimbar gives off plenty of chill tropical vibes with bright green leaves covering the walls, animal-print covered seats, a giant tiger painted over the entrance, and a great playlist of familiar pop and pop-rock favourites. The extensive cocktail menu currently boasts three signature drinks created with Malaysian and house-made ingredients, and are bound to attract an inquisitive drinking collective.

Marimbar - Blue Moon

There’s the vividly coloured Blue Moon – a drink crafted with a bold fruity twist that caters for drinkers who enjoy sweeter tastes. It’s made with Bombay Sapphire gin mixed with blue curaçao, pineapple, and a sweet and sour syrup that extracts the pineapple’s notes to create a richer flavour. The Pisco Disco is as funky as it sounds, and is a Marimbar twist on the classic Pisco Sour. Here, the drink is infused with chrysanthemum (which adds a floral fragrance) and is mixed with pandan syrup, lime, lychee liqueur, lychee juice and a lychee fruit to finish. Finally, the gin-based Red Rimbar – which gets its colour and name from raspberry syrup – is mixed with a house-made pandan sugar syrup, and finished with ginger and egg white for an all-round refreshing drink.

Marimbar

Complementing the extensive list of cocktails, beer, liquor and drinks is a variety of appetisers, mains and pizzas to satisfy any appetite. Pair your drinks with the array of light bites that fuse hints of Italian cuisine with Asian and local flavours – popular options include the spicy sausage with anchovies, deep-fried Camembert, samosas with feta cheese and spinach, fried Vietnamese spring rolls, and the beef crostini with jalapeños and goat’s cheese.

Equally satisfying here are the great prices for both food and drinks that won’t make a huge dent in your wallet, and Happy Hours are from 3pm to 9pm every day. Marimbar is a fantastic place where you can chill out on alfresco decks overlooking both the PJ and KL skylines, watch the sunset and toast to the city with delicious cocktails and food.
