Five rooms to check out at the new Zouk

You may miss the old Zouk days of Jalan Ampang but it’s an all-new era for Zouk KL as their swanky new home at TREC is now officially open. Entry rates are from RM25 to RM60 according to room and is inclusive of one housepour. Entrance to Imperial however is only by the bottle. Here, we pick five new rooms where your dancing shoes will be grooving:

Ace
Indiego & Co regulars, don’t be sad about your Saturday nights since the closing of Frangipani – the boys will be spinning here from now onwards. Make your way to this room on other nights so you can groove to hip hop and R&B.

Apex
Apex is more of a lounge than a dance floor with a diverse Japanese tapas menu and a view of Jalan Tun Razak. Music-wise, the playlist will be curated by Blink with an emphasis on nu disco, indie, house and the classics. So rockers who want to dance, sway this way.

Phuture
This room is meant to look like a club from 'Tron' – minus Daft Punk on the decks. If resident DJs Luqe, Radzi and Ken Master fail to entertain you then maybe the Cirque du Soleil-ish dancers hoisted on a suspended track around the dance floor will.

Imperial (Opens September 4)
This is where you’ll be celebrating the finer things of Zouk KL – premium wines, rare whiskies (we spotted a bottle that was going for RM30,000), password-activated private lifts, chandelier and a champagne bar. If you plan on throwing parties, get the VIP concierge treatment which includes party planners and security. Imperial is also located next to the balcony deck, where you can enjoy a view of the Royal Selangor Golf Club. Fun fact: There’s a slide connecting the room to the Member’s Lounge so yeah, take the fast lane.

Zouk Main Room
And this is where it all happens – the heart of Zouk. To get here, you will have to pass through its long tunnel entrance with fiery red vibes. The music here will be EDM, trance, techno, electro and trap. Resident DJs for the main room will be BATE on Friday nights and Hypeembeats on Saturday nights.
