They’ve taken their time, but The Prince of Wales will finally make his maiden visit to Malaysia on November 3 together with his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, as part of their Commonwealth Nations tour ahead of the Commonwealth Summit in April 2018.

As you might expect, the royal couple’s five-day visit will be a busy one, starting off with a royal gala dinner in KL soon after touching down, after which they’ll head to Sarawak, Perak and George Town, Penang before flying off to India on November 8.

Their visits to Sarawak and Perak will have them observing the wildlife conservation work in the states and meeting members of Sarawak’s indigenous communities. Their tour ends in George Town where they’ll visit some of the key sights of what was once known as Prince of Wales Island.

‘We are also very pleased that Their Royal Highnesses will have the opportunity to meet Malaysians and experience the rich cultural diversity and heritage here,’ said Her Excellency Vicki Treadell CMG MVO, the British High Commissioner to Malaysia.

The royal couple aren’t the first British royals to visit Malaysia – the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited KL and Sabah in September 2012 on behalf of Queen Elizabeth II to mark her Diamond Jubilee.
