Film Screening: Tokyo Story

After a seven-month hiatus, the Japan Foundation, Kuala Lumpur brings back The Weekend Japanese Film Show with 'Tokyo Story', Yasujiro Ozu's 1953 magnum opus. Set in the American-influenced post-war reconstruction period, an elderly couple visits their adult children in the city, resulting in a deeply moving story of generational conflict that spans time and cultural barriers. The Weekend Japanese Film Show is a series of free film screenings held every first Saturday of the month. All films are presented in Japanese with English subtitles.
