Time Out says

Ikal Mayang, an initiative under WOMEN:girls, is produced by Garang Pictures and Big EyEs Entertainment to increase the share of women’s voice through filmmaking. Screened in conjunction with the celebration of International Women’s Day on March 8 annually, Ikal Mayang presents a two-day festival this year that combines the release of an anthology film, arts installations and music performances. Here’s what you should look out for:

Short films (6 countries, 1 voice)
Check out an anthology of six 11-minute short films, directed by film heavyweights Niramon Ross (Thailand), Shireen Seno (the Philippines), AD Chan (Singapore), Siti Kamaluddin (Brunei), Nia Dinata (Indonesia) and Datin Paduka Shuhaimi Baba (Malaysia).

2-minuters
The festival will also showcase ten original stories in the form of community service announcements by local Malaysian personalities including Eja (also known as Siti Shahrizah), Elza Irdalynna, Ineza Roussille, Nora Nabila, Soefira Jaafar, Deborah Henry, Leia Aljoffery, Sharyn Lisa Shufiyan, Junad M Nor and Melissa Indot.

Zee Avi Mamak Unplugged (Mar 8, 3pm. Pakcik Cafe)
Our very own international singing sensation Zee Avi is back in town for a surprise free gig at Pakcik Cafe (ground floor, Central Plaza, 34 Jalan Sultan Ismail, KL). Places are limited, so come early to book a slot, or get your invites on March 5 at L1-35, Level 1, SSTwo Mall. More info at WOMEN:girls.
