Time Out says

A sub-festival within the larger scope of things, Le French Festival’s film screenings have always been the festival’s focal point. Francophiles and bibliophiles will be pleased to know that this year’s cinematic selections are largely film adaptations of celebrated novels. One such adaptation to look forward to is ‘La Princesse de Montpensier’ (‘The Princess of Montpensier’). Bertrand Tavernier’s period drama is a five-way love story entangling Marie de Mézières with four contrasting suitors during the Wars of Religion in France during the 16th century.

Best of all, you can meet Melanie Thierry, the movie’s heroine, following a film screening at GSC Pavilion on May 19. Nominated Best Actress at the 2010 Cesar awards (the French equivalent to the Oscars), Thierry will provide a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the film that won the Best Costume Design Cesar award in 2010.
