A few doors down from McDonald’s at e@Curve, Funky Villa is your typical restaurant cum bar and lounge. If all you need is a drink, something to eat and then go, Funky Villa’s convenient location and good drink deals make it a viable place for a pre or post movie hangout. We were rather intrigued by the colour changing walls on our initial visits. The colours fade from green to blue, illuminating the interior with an interesting fluid-like lighting effect.
The bar indoor is shaped like a crescent moon and across from it is an elevated lounge area, cordoned off with a curtain of translucent beads. All decked out in comfy sofas, this is a good spot for larger groups. There are more seats outside at the terrace, which sports an upper deck as well. Music wise, you can expect the usual 80s hits, Top 40 and electro house.
There’s a respectable selection of wines and liquors. Beer wise, Hoegaarden, Stella and O’Connors are all available on tap. Weeklong drink promotions are quite worthwhile: beer tower comes at only RM99 nett on Mondays, whereas on Wednesdays you get one free cocktail for every two ordered. We recommend you try the ice cream cocktail if you are a fan of desserts. If you are really keen on eating here, the Thai menu has some worthy dishes as well, particularly the soft shell crab curry and barbequed skewers.
