Changkat Bukit Bintang is often a bit of a mess, with tourists swarming the street and thronging the bars for a taste of KL’s famous nightlife. So let’s say you’re a local who’d rather avoid that crowd; let’s say you want a nice place where you can chill out over a drink or two (or three). You’ll want to make your way over to Jalan Berangan to one of the few rooftop lounges in the area: Tetto.
‘Tetto’ is Italian for ‘roof’. The lounge features a sky bridge in the centre, with some VIP seats for guests to take in the view – which isn’t all that spectacular despite the altitude, but you can’t beat the relaxing atmosphere. A 22m-long graffiti wall lends the place an abiding sense of cool, and overall it’s comparatively quiet for the area. As usual, there are happy hour promotions from 6pm to 8pm from Monday to Thursday. With five pints of beer (priced at RM88), you’ll also get a free pizza. Bottle promotions start later on in the night, when the DJ starts playing some thumping beats. Ian Loh
