Strauss’s ‘Also sprach Zarathustra’, made famous in Stanley Kubrick’s ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’, makes for a cosmic orchestral spectacular. The performance will set the stage for Holst’s ‘The Planets’, a musical depiction of the planets in our solar system, from the icy realms of Neptune to the still beauty of Venus.
