If you think the only cider worth having is an apple one, think again. Over the past few years we’ve seen a variety of ciders – elderflower, blackberry, pear, strawberry and mango are just some of them – being consumed more and more in bars and restaurants.

Adding now to that list of ciders is Somersby’s new Sparkling Rosé Cider, a semi-sweet apple rosé version that’s flavoured with red berry juice and carries a fresh, fruity and floral aroma. The result, as you might have guessed from its name, isn’t exactly miles apart from a sparkling rosé – it’s not too sweet nor too dry, making it a pleasant apéritif and alternative to sparkling wine.

The only catch is that the rosé cider will be only available for the next six months – but that’s enough to carry you through the big celebrations that matter: Christmas, New Year, Chinese New Year and Valentine’s Day. The bottles are sold individually (RM11.50), in packs of two (RM22.90) and packs of four (RM36.90), and are available in selected retailers and bars across Peninsula Malaysia.
