It’s a big week for drum and bass fans. DNB XTRA, KL’s iconic drum and bass music club night, is bringing the legendary Andy C to our shores for the first time. It’s time to get hyped for the ‘King of Drum and Bass’. The genre innovator and RAM Records owner has been at the top of his game for about two decades now. Known for his faultless technique, Andy specialises in fast mixing and repeatedly employing three turntables at the same time.
Andy’s well-known remixes include Busta Rhymes’ ‘Woo Hah!’, Adam F’s ‘Circles’, and Jay-Z’s ‘Can’t Knock The Hustle’. But it was his ‘Nightlife’ mix series that took him to the next level in his career. By 2010, he’d dropped five series of ‘Nightlife’ mixtapes with his signature selection and construction. Since then, he’s moved the RAM club nights to London’s superclub, Fabric, signed a couple more fresh talents under his label, and even been invited to give a lecture at Oxford University. The man they call ‘The Executioner’ is certainly not to be missed. Andy will be supported by local drum and bass talents, DJ Low & Nesh MC, Duster and Emisz. Ian Loh
