Behind his disguise, as mysterious as he is anonymous, Kryder is a producer to look out for. Backed by his masked sidekick (the classically trained Dokta Kaotika), his shows are a special mix of trance-infused tech, progressive and electro house which could bring back a sense of carnival to KL.
Kryder’s tracks are often dark and deep, creating an edgy and underground soundscape of progressive house overlaid with trance chords demonstrated in tracks such as ‘Repeat’, ‘Scorpio’ and ‘Ultima’. Despite his body of more hypnotic and electronic work, he sometimes produces tracks that lean towards the tribal and percussive sounds.
In terms of DJ recognition, Kryder has received great support from the likes of Calvin Harris, Laidback Luke, Eddie Halliwell, Zane Lowe, Erick and Groove Armada. The Brit has even been invited by Tiësto to play at his own party at Privilege, Ibiza. With luck, you might be able to catch a glimpse of him sans visor. So gear yourselves up for some lights, camera, action. Jay Chooi
