Be prepared to shuffle with the rare appearance of Dutch hard dance duo Showtek supported by local favourites Mr Nasty, Guru-Guru, Goldfish and Blink. Showtek is made up of brothers Wouter and Sjoerd Janssen, and the duo was the first hardstyle act to launch an album. For their pioneering efforts, they’ve hit the big time in DJ Magazine’s top 100, and have received scores of Hard Dance Awards for their own brand of meteoric sounding tracks.
With 11 years of experience in the dance scene, the duo has found fame in recent years through their massive hits, acclaimed albums, sold out shows and staggering live performances. Even Tiësto himself, widely considered to be the world’s greatest DJ, recognised Showtek’s talents by asking them to co-produce the chart hit ‘Maximal Crazy’. Showtek describe their own sound as a combination of ‘catchy, melodic and harsh’, and vary between two extremes: either very well mapped out or leaning towards the impromptu. This year, they started a project titled ‘Crazy Collabs’, a series of collaborations with EDM producers from a variety of genres. Fix your ears on Showtek’s newest track, ‘How We Do’, a team effort with electro house newcomer Hardwell. Jay Chooi
