With all the EDM festivals going on, it’s nice to see Malaysia’s hip hoppers doing their bit to celebrate our diverse music scene. Raising The Bar could very well be one of the biggest hip hop parties we will ever witness. Taking place at KLPac, the festival will start at 12noon and go all the way till 12midnight.
More than 50 international and local hip hop acts are set to perform at the festival on three different stages – ‘Beats’, ‘Rhymes’ and ‘Life’. On the Beats stage, catch a glimpse of DJ Unconventional Science from the US, DJ Lethal Skillz from Lebanon, CEE X H3 from Malaysia and other acts. Local superstars like Joe Flizzow, Altimet, SonaOne, Caprice, Nadhira, Manhand and other artists will be performing on the Rhymes stage. Dose Two Akeem and Thecrazy88 from Singapore are taking the helm at Life stage along with other performers.
Apart from the music, there will be a live graffiti showcase and auction, streetwear bazaar, hip hop talks and workshops as well as community collaborations like KL Slam Poets and MY Battles. Who says hip hop is dead? Ian Loh
