The gussied up hotel restaurant echoes an upscale Japanese eatery with a stylised tatami room. Not letting presentation trump substance, you’ll still find mainstays like temaki, tempura and udon. But upstaging all things traditional is the chefs’ take on makimono (rolled sushi). Remember to order the Dynamite Roll – a mosaic of orange-marbled salmon, tempura prawn and avocado curled into a luscious roll – or the Gindara Fukiyose Yaki (grilled black cod fish) when in season. KL isn’t lacking in high-end Japanese restaurants but Enju seems to have bridged the gap between creativity and quality. All infredients are of the freshest variety and you and your kids can watch your food being prepared at the sushi counter. Salmon sushi, ebi tempura and tamago sushi are the usual kid favourites. Feel free to request for colour pencils and paper to keep your child seated and entertained without resorting to the tablet.
