Feeka

One of the prettiest cafés to debut in 2013, Feeka’s location in the thriving Jalan Mesui district has everything going for it. By the folks behind Food Foundry and Butter + Beans at Seventeen, Feeka is rawer in appearance and less embellished in comparison to its older siblings. It’s this lack of vintage-inspired ornamentation that makes this new addition special; we are wistfully reminded of some of Penang’s colonial houses-turned cafés. A stream of sunlight pours onto the counter from an overhead air well, a bulging tree trunk remains untouched at the café’s entrance and retro-inspired leaf chairs are scattered in the airy lawn. The seasonal house blend is varied by head barista Joseph Long, while mains by the promising Chef Mashad Pino (formerly of Hit & Mrs) are soon to feature.
